We undertook an ambitious project to develop a contactless wristband and digital wallet application system for our festival and events ecosystem.
We host numerous large-scale food & drink festivals throughout America. Our ecosystem of festivals and events have seen over 600k visitors since inception.
We set out to create a contactless wristband application system for payments. We chose Stellar Blockchain for its speed, low cost, and open-source development.
Stellar blockchain uses Lumens (XLM) to run the network.
The term "Lumens" is chosen to signify illumination or enlightenment, with the idea that the Stellar network brings light to global financial transactions by making them faster, cheaper, and more accessible. Built on Stellar blockchain, LUX measures the total “amount” of visible light present and the intensity of the illumination on a surface. LUX Payband was born.
Our goals expanded.
We initially created a tokenized payment application for our festival and events. We successfully paired our payment application with digital wristbands creating wristband wallets. However, our niche further developed into a customer loyalty program for festival & events using digital wallets and our contactless wristband.
What started as a payment application developed into a customer loyalty & rewards redemption application system for in-event goods and services.
